This year marks the 9th year of the Race of Remembrance - EF 5K & Ed Thomas 10K. This 5K Run/walk was started in 2009 after an EF5 tornado tore through the town of Parkersburg, IA destroying ovet 200 home and 20 businesses in less than a minute.The Ed Thomas 10K was added in 2010 after, to our great sorrow, our High School football coach of 30+ years was tragically killed.
All proceeds from these races have been donated to the Ed Thomas Family Foundation and other organizations that are good for the town and our children. Please help us continue this tradition.
You will notice when you join us for this race that the town consists of a lot ups and down. It is not flat as many assume.
