- The Howell Independence Aquathlon is a unique, multi-sport event which includes a 2k run,, a 750m swim, and a final 2k run. The run takes place through the Howell City Park and beautiful Lakeview Cemetery. The swim takes place in Thompson Lake off of Howell City Park. We also have a 1-mile Open Water Swim. The all inclusive price allows you to participate in both events, or choose one.
Wet Suites are permitted at the Aquathlon but for health reasons, participants should not wear one if the water is 78 degrees or higher. Check with a race instructor the day of the event for details on the water temperature. Also for safety reasons, it is required that each participant wear a swim cap while in the water. Swim caps make it easier for event staff and water safety boats to see participants in the water. If a participant does not have a swim cap the day of the event, they will be available for purchase on site for $2.00.
Deadline to register and receive a t-shirt is June 25.
