Help support emergency fuel assistance in Vermont's Deerfield Valley and have some dam fun doing it. This is a fast out-and-back 13.1 mile (half-marathon) that starts out at the Harriman Dam and mostly follows the old Hoot, Toot & Whistle rail bed along the west side of Harriman Reservoir, the largest body of water entirely within Vermont's borders. The shores of this scenic lake are undeveloped and unbroken. Amazing views abound, especially as you cross the 215 foot high and 1250 foot long dam. Both runners and walkers are welcome!

All proceeds benefit the Deerfield Valley Community Cares' Fuel Asssistance Fund. The event is sponsored by the Deerfield Valley Rotary Club.

Course Information:

Approximately 600 feet of the run is on pavement crossing the dam. The remainder of run is on unpaved trail that primarily follows an old rail bed. There is 722 feet of elevation gain. Here is a detailed map of the course.

Directions:

The start and finish are located in the parking area at Harriman Dam (Dam Road, Whitingham, Vermont). Please park along Dam Road.  View Map.
