This first-of-spring race is sited at beautiful Pokagon State Park, just off I-69 and the 80/90 Toll Road. The Olympic and Sprint Distance triathlons include a lake swim and trail run. The duathlon includes 5K trail runs with a 20K bike ride - a perfect spring opener!
Whether you live close by or are traveling to the race, this is a perfect location for a weekend away, with lodging available in and just outside the park, several excellent lake-side restaurants, and nearby attractions including the Amish communities, shopping and museums just west in Shipshewana, the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Museum just south on I-69 in Auburn, historic Angola with its classic movie theatre, and beautiful lake and biking country throughout the area.
Event details and schedule
The Sprint Triathlon and the Duathlon races starts at 9 a.m., followed by the Olympic distance athletes at 9:10 a.m. The 5k begins at 9:30 a.m. The swim course is 750 meters (1 lap for Sprint and 2 laps for Olympic). The Bike course is along country roads in Steuben County (20kfor Sprint & 40k for Olympic). .
