Champ Racing and the Hope Over Heroin organization announce both a super-exciting and super important mission event for this summer...THE INAUGURAL HOPE OVER HEROIN AMG AKRON CITY TRIATHLON! Sunday, July 9, 2017. First of all, this event will promote and help benefit the missions of Hope Over Heroin in hopes to swim, bike, run, and kick the crap out drug addiction! This intermediate triathlon distance event will begin with a 600 yard swim at Portage Lakes State Park's West Reservoir (not the beach area) and will be a point-to-point race taking athletes on a 17 mile bike route into the City of Akron where transition area #2 awaits on King James Way. The race will cap-off the day with a spectator-friendly 2 lap X 2 mile run course finishing at beautiful Lock 3 Park in the heart of the Rubber City! In addition to individual awards and prizes...this race will also be a triathlon team/club-scored event.
