This Youth Duathlon is a USAT sanctioned race venue and the first of its kind in the State of Oklahoma. It has a standard Duathlon format (run, bike, and run) for the 5-10 yr olds and it is the first F-1 Duathlon (run, bike, run, bike, run) for the 11-15yr olds offered in the state.
Being the only USAT certified Youth Race Director (also a USAT certified Adult Race Director) in the State of Oklahoma will give parents the satisfaction and comfort of knowing that I will provide the greatest level of “safety” on a closed course not open to traffic.
The venue will be held completely on the school grounds of Guthrie High School and have the support of the Guthrie Police Department with Officers being placed at the accessible points of the school grounds.
Event details and schedule
The Youth race will start “after” the Adult F-1 Duathlon has been completed. I anticipate this to be close to 10:a/10:30a.
In the event there are only a few Adult runners finishing their last run I will start this earlier.
5-8 yr old will start first
9-10 will start after the final finisher of the first wave.
11-15 doing the F-1 format will start after the final finisher of the 9-10.
An arrival time of 9:30 would be close enough to get your Youth Athlete signed in and body marked. This will allow enough time to get their transition area/bike racked and ready to race.
If this is your Athlete’s first time for any type of multi-sport event feel free to arrive earlier and they can watch the Adults transition from run to bike as well as finish.
When arriving please note you will enter on the main Crooks Dr entrance which will be guarded by a GP Officer.
Be sure that your Athlete has an approved (CPSC-certified) helmet.
