Description
A challenging, 45 mile ride on trails, gravel roads and paved roads from Madras to Lake Simtustus, crossing the lake on the reregulating dam, gravel roads through Warm Springs Reservation and back over the Round Butte dam up to the scenic canyon rim above Lake Billy Chinook and back along the Madras Mountain Views Scenic Bikeway to the finish.
Both dams are not open to the public, nor is riding on the Warm Springs Reservation. Special permission has been granted to Double Dam riders for this new adventure bicycle ride. The ride benefits Kids Club of Jefferson County, Warm Springs Boys & Girls Club and Juntos. Sponsored by PGE, Warm Springs Power and many local businesses.
Two rest stops, sag support, lunch, one beer (plus more for sale) and live music await you at the finish. RV and tent camping at the fairgrounds, special hotel pricing and a small, vibrant community of volunteers await you. Come see what most people never get to see when in Jefferson County, Oregon.
