Triathlon : Run 3.1 Miles. Bike 11 Miles, Swim 150 Yards

2011 Nor'easter Reverse Sprint Triathlon:

We will start with a 3.1 mile run on a loop course and return to an Indoor Transition in the gymnasium of the Campus Center..

The run will be followed by an 11 mile loop bike course on very smooth (really) pavement.

After traveling through transtion the second time, the race finishes with a 150 yard snake swim in the indoor pool.

(A snake swim is completed by swimming down the pool in lane 1, back in lane 2, down in lane 3, back in lane 4, down in lane 5, back in lane 6 and then climbing out of the pool and crossing the timing mat.)

Run Course:

Start in front of the Campus Center on Hills Beach Rd

Cross over to run facing traffic.

Turn Left through parking lots.

Turn Left on Route 9. Run in paved breakdown lane.

Turn Left on Bridge Street.

Turn Left on Old Pool Road.

Turn Right on Hills Beach Road.

Cross over and enter gym behind the pool.

Bike Course:

Exit gym from back corner.

Walk /Run bike around to the front of the Campus Center.

Mount Line is in circular driveway.

Turn Right on Hills Beach Road.

Turn Left on Route 9.

Ride in paved breakdown lane on Route 9.

Turn Right on Oak Ridge Road. (new pavement!)

Turn Right on Guinea Road. (repaved two years ago!)

Turn Right on Meetinghouse Road.

Bear Right on Route 9.

Ride in paved breakdown lane on Route 9.

Turn Left on Hills Beach Road.

Turn Left into circular driveway and dismount at line.

Walk/Run bike into the gym following the same route that you did for the Run.

Swim Course:

Exit gym through lobby of Campus Center

***No Passing Zone *** from lobby to start of Swim.

Jump in Lane 1 and begin swim. (No Diving)

Swim down in Lane 1, Back in Lane 2.

Down in Lane 3, Back in Lane 4.

Swim Down in Lane 5, Back in Lane 6.

Climb out of pool and cross the timing mat.

Directions:

The University of New England is situated on the banks of the Saco River in Biddeford, Maine.
