_ 2017 Rolf Prima Tri at the Grove:
Join us on July 22nd for the seventh annual Rolf Prima Tri at the Grove at scenic Cottage Grove Lake, 30 minutes south of Eugene. This USAT sanctioned race features Sprint & Olympic distance courses with individual & relay team options. Triathlete Magazine editor's pick for the Country's top 22 triathlons. Pre-race day social and Q&A with the pro's at Rolf Prima's facility in Eugene. This race fills quickly, so please register early.
Course Information:
Swim:
The race starts at the Lakeside Park boat ramp on Cottage Grove Lake. Swimmers will be sent off in waves with a standing in water start and swim a clockwise loop. Keep all buoys on your right until arriving back at the dock and making the left turn to exit up the ramp and into the transition area.
Bike:
This is a fast course! The route follows along the lake with only one climb as you arrive back to transition.
Run:
This out and back route takes you along the beautiful lake shore. The road is a combination of pavement and compact gravel. Plenty of trees give cover to the summer sun as you make your way though the course.
Directions:
From north (Eugene):
- Take I-5 South to exit 172 (S. 6th St./Cottage Grove Lake)
- Turn LEFT on S. 6th St.
- Continue on London Road for approx. 4+ miles.
- Watch for signs.
- Turn left onto Cottage Grove Reservoir Road (follow signs and volunteer instructions).
- Turn right at entrance to parking lot (volunteer will direct you).
From south (Roseburg):
- Take I-5 north to exit 170 to merge onto OR-99 N/Hwy 99 N toward Cottage Grove (2.8 mi).
- Turn right onto Latham Rd.
- Turn right onto London Rd. Continue on London Road for approx. 4+ miles.
- Watch for signs.
- Turn left onto Cottage Grove Reservoir Road (follow signs and volunteer instructions).
- Turn right at entrance to parking lot (volunteer will direct you).
