2011 DRC Indoor Sprint Triathlon:
- This is the indoor race of the year! Try the DRC Indoor Sprint Triathlon on Sunday January 16, 2011. Heats start at 7:30.
- 500 yd swim in the pool, 6 mile bike on LeMond RevMaster cycles, and a 2 mile run on the track.
- Whether you are a first time participant or a seasoned veteran in the sport, this will be a first class event not to miss!
- All fitness levels encouraged to participate...we have a place for you!
- Register online at www.derbyrec.com or drop it by the Derby Recreation Center.
- Please join us for an award ceremony to celebrate your accomplishments!
- Following the last heat, we will have refreshments, awards, and a chance to win door prizes! The ceremony should begin around 12:30pm.
Course Information:
SWIM:
The swim will take place in a 25 yard, 6 lane indoor lap pool.
Heats of 12 will start at 7:30am sharp!. Heats will follow every 30 minutes consecutively.
Racers will share one lane with one other swimmer and must stay in their assigned lane.
500 yard distance consists of 10 laps that must be continuous swimming.
Note: Swimmers may stop and stand to rest but can not advance forward by pushing off or walking on the bottom of the pool.
Swimmers may also rest on the wall.

BIKE:
This portion of the race will be 6 miles on an upright LeMond RevMaster stationary bike.
The distance will be set by a race official for 6 miles, racer begins pedaling, and after the start button is pressed twice the biker can adjust the resistance to desired level.
While on the bike, the running track will be visible from the bike transition area to see racers who are also competing.
Note: If you are not racing, please keep the track clear!

RUN:
After completing the bike, participants will enter the track after proceeding up the staircase.
The total distance of the run will be 2 miles or 20 laps around the track and will be counted by race officials.
