2011 Albany Sprint Triathlon:

  • The Albany Sprint Triathlon is a fund-raiser for the Albany Aquatics Association local swim club.
  • Seedings are done at 5:00 the Monday before the event and your Start and Lane assignments will be posted at http://www.albanyaquatic.com that evening.
  • Entries received after the Monday seeding will be seeded into a 9:30 start time and will not receive a tee-shirt.

    • Course Information:

  • Course is a well marked, flat, fast course. Great for starting your triathlon season.
  • Swim is in a twelve lane, 25 meter pool with 4-5 swimmers per lane. Athletes are seeded the week prior based on their 500 yd swim time.
  • The 20k ride is along flat, low traffic roads to the east of Albany among many farms.
  • The 5 k run is along a combination of paths and sidewalks and ends on the South Albany track field next to the pool.

  • I-5 exit 233, head west, left on Waverly Dr, head south, right on 36th Ave.

  • This event is a great for beginners and as a start for your season.
  • The field has between 300-400 triathletes.
  • Also Athena / Cyldesdale and mountain bike divisions.
