_ 2017 Rockport Rugged Xterra Triathlon:
- Rockport State Recreation area sets the scene for this event, and the name could not be more fitting. Set in the beautiful up north area of Alpena, it’s like you landed in another state out west somewhere. This is one of Michigan’s most unique state parks, rich in history and picturesque in its breathtaking beauty. This event also brings out the fat tires, with mountain, cross, and fatty bikes all welcome. We incorporate all the unique aspects of the park to offer this one of kind event, as well as stunning scenery along the shoreline with the kayak/SUP event. We are very proud to be the official event management team for this event and we look forward to creating a event like no other in the region.
Course Information:
Earning the coveted XTerra designation, a portion of each leg of the bike and run take the athlete off of a designated trail. This event is truly rough and rugged!
Olympic - 1000m swim, Mountain bike(MTB), 10k trail run = Xterra points series
Sprint - 500m swim, MTB., 5k trail run
Super Sprint - 200m swim, MTB., 1mi trail run
Olympic Aquabike: 1000m swim, MTB
Sprint Aquabike: 500m swim, MTB.
Sprint KayaTri: 2 mile Kayak/Paddle Board, MTB., 5k trail run
