_ 2017 Route 66 Half Iron Distance Triathlon:

July 29th is the date for the Stoneman Sprint, Iron Abe Olympic and Route 66 Half Iron Triathlons all taking place at Lake Springfield.

All racers swim thru the arches of the historic Lindsay Bridge, bike on super fast rural roads and run on closed lake roads with plenty of shade.

All receive on course support with water and HEED and other Hammer Nutrition Products for the longer distances, custom gender specfic Anvil technical shirt, custom race bib, frame sticker and swim cap, swim safety counts exceeding guidelines to make your swim safe and enjoyable, Finisher Medals for all distances, post race food and drink and an awards ceremony with unique awards specific to each race.

New this year is the awesome, highly photogenic I FINISHED backdrop that has been well received by the racers and lets you commemorate your accomplishment for years to come.

So far every event this year has seen a wating line to get your photo in front of the backdrop. Very cool.

We will also be filming a short movie of the events and venue so put on your finsest tri kit, smile pretty and wave to the cameras and drone when you pass.

Iron Abe will offer the chance for your club or team to take home a piece of history.  The team/club with the lowest score in the Oly will be awarded with a Triathlon Club Challenge plaque made from the 300 year old Gudgel Oak. This tree was around before our country was established and was present when Lincoln toured central Illinois.

Gather your club or team and compete in the Oly and become a part of the Springfield Lincoln Tradition.

And the best news of all, we have been assured by all road commissioners that they will not rock the roads near our race date.  So plan on a fast, clean bike on the course on the website.  woohoo.   Race Directors dream, no rocks.
