Sponsored by the East Grand High School Outdoor Education class, This is our third adventure race for all interested high school students from Maine and beyond, grades 9-12 consisting of two persons per team. Pairs can be guys, girls or mixed.

[br]Prizes: $700.00 in prizes in the form of gift certificates to sporting good stores to the top three finishing pairs! Over $1,000.00 in door prizes will be given out after the race!

Course Information:
The race will consist of four parts, a climbing wall challenge, bush whack on Peakaboo Mountain (approx. 1 mile off trail compass trek), mountain biking for approx. seven miles on woods roads and trails, and canoeing for approx. 7 miles on the Baskahegan River which is mostly flat water with a couple of easy quick water sections.
Directions:
Directions To East Grand High School when coming from central and southern Maine, take 95 north to exit 227. In Lincoln, take a left onto Rt. 6. Follow Rt. 6 through town and east to Springfield. In Springfield, take a left onto Rt. 169, bear right twice over the next 20+ miles for Danforth. In Danforth, cross over the train tracks go up over the hill and take a left onto Rt. 1 north, the school is on the right. From the Houlton area and points north, take Rt. 1 South to Danforth, the school is on the left. From Down East Maine, take Rt. 1 north, Rt. 1 makes a right turn in Danforth, turn right and the school is on the right.

Other Info:
Level of difficulty: While the race will be physically challenging. It is not beyond the reach of young people who are in reasonably good physical condition. We highly recommend a routine of training, well before the race that includes biking, jogging/running and canoeing. There will be a five minute break between each element for students to take a short break, eat a snack, and take a drink before heading out on the next leg of the race.

[br]Meeting Place: Meet on Saturday at the East Grand High School Cafeteria 8:30 9AM to check in & register. We meet back at the cafeteria for lunch after the race approx. 2:00PM.We are aiming to do the awards presentations at 3:00PM or sooner if all the race participants are in.

[br]Eat a good breakfast prior to arriving at East Grand by 8:30-9AM for orientation.
[br]Each team will be issued a number to place on the right front of your canoe and to wear over clothing.
[br]Racing Order: One mile bushwhack, seven mile biking and seven miles of canoeing (Distances are approximate)
[br]Adult Supervision: If one or more teens are under the age of 18, an adult sponsor will need to bring you to this event.
