_2017 Xterra Knoxville Triathlon:
The XTERRA Points Series moves to Knoxville, TN to bring one of the toughest and most exciting triathlons on the circuit. This race is part of the XTERRA Southeast Region and is an XTERRA USA Championship Qualifier.
Only two miles from downtown, Knoxville's Urban Wilderness presents a unique urban playground for mountain bikers and trail runners alike. Winding through the Urban Wilderness, participants will encounter plenty of rocks, roots, and climbing to test their grit. XTERRA Knoxville will take participants through five parks, featuring the old quarries and hills of East Tennessee with a perfect balance of neighborhood backyard feel.
Swim Course
Swim 1200 Meters (.75 mi)
The swim will be held from the water at Mead’s Quarry held as a mass start. Swimmers will navigate a one lap, clockwise loop around the perimeter of the quarry before exiting for transition. The shoreline will be covered with matting to allow for a safe and quick exit from the water. A shoe drop will be available for the short, but rocky, run up to transition.
It is mandatory that athletes wear swim caps during the entire duration of the swim. You will be given a swim cap at packet pick up.
