8th Annual Olathe Medical Center Women’s Triathlon and Duathlon
Olathe Medical Center is proud to be the title sponsor of the only all women’s triathlon and duathlon in the state of Kansas. Olathe Medical Center is dedicated to improving the health of our community, including providing state-of-the-art medical care and encouraging healthy lifestyles. This event features a Sprint Distance triathlon and a duathlon course in Kill Creek Park, and is operated by Johnson County Park and Recreation District. This is a USAT Sanctioned Event. All age group athletes participate and compete in the age group division corresponding to the athlete’s age on December 31st of this year (2015). Individual awards will be presented to the top three female overall finishers in each course. Age group awards will be broken down into five year increments.
Triathlon Course
Swim: The swim course is 500 meters in length. The swim start will be a time trial start with two people entering the water every three seconds. Race morning, you will place yourself by the appropriate pace sign according to your swim time.
Bike: The bike course is a 10.6 mile partially hilly loop course held both within and outside the park boundaries.
Run: The run course is a 3.1 mile (5K) route on the Kill Creek Streamway Trail which adjoins with Kill Creek Park. This route provides some of the most beautiful natural surroundings in the region. Aid stations are at transition and throughout the course.
Team: Participants also have the option to compete in this course as a team, in a relay format. Each individual of the team can complete one or two legs for the triathlon. There is a three member maximum on the team and at least two members are required in order to compete in the team category.
Duathlon Course
Run: The race will have a mass start for all duathletes on the park road. The first and second run is a 3.1 mile (5K) route on the Kill Creek Streamway Trail which adjoins with Kill Creek Park. This route provides some of the most beautiful natural surroundings in the region. Aid stations are at transition and throughout the course. The second run will be the same as the first run, and will be the same route as the triathletes.

Team: Participants also have the option to compete in this course as a team, in a relay format. Each individual of the team can complete one or two legs for the duathlon. There is a three member maximum on the team and at least two members are required in order to compete in the team category.
Athena Category
This event includes an Athena Division. The division is 165 lbs. and over. The division age categories are 39 years of age and under, and 40 years of age and over. This age is based on the athlete’s age on December 31st of this year (2015). Participants are not eligible to compete in this division and in an age group division.
