BLOW IT UP with Pangea as the Atomic AR heads back to North Georgia in 2014!
The town of Blue Ridge and surrounding Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest offer a lot of great ground to cover and the terrain is favorable for our unique competitions. The Main TA will be in a different location this year so both the 30 hour Elite and 5 hour Sport races will get a fresh course for the legendary event.
Elite racers will get another remote challenge. The response regarding the lonely areas traveled last year were very positive and the 2014 version should be similar.
The ground covered in this race will overlap only slightly with the previous events but the far-off backwoods feel will be the same with a big focus on navigation and topographical skills. Much like last year, the course will be an Expedition-like experience. You will leave the Main TA near the start and not see it again until the finish.
In the Sport race the Paddle segment will be on moving whitewater for the first time and the Bike portion should make you work. But the big challenge will be the navigation on Foot. Like in the Elite, the person with the map will get a chance to really test their skills.
