Whitewater Challengers is thrilled to be sponsoring this fun-filled fund-raiser for Brandens Heart - the local charity dedicated to providing guidance, assistance and opportunities for our areas young people.   We hope youll help us to help Brandons Heart, by getting a group of friends together, and signing up for this years Triathlon in Lehigh Gorge State Park.  We welcome your interest, and look forward to seeing you on race day!

MARK YOUR CALENDAR! And gather your friends or family for a fun day out, by entering a team in this year's Whitewater Challengers Triathlon.

WHAT:  Run, raft and bike in this fun-filled team event at Lehigh Gorge State Park. One of your teammates will complete the running leg of the race; then your entire team will raft a section of the Lehigh River; and then one of your teammates will complete the biking leg.

WHY:  Its all for fun.  For bragging rights.  And for the benefit of Branden's Heart, a 501(c)3 charity supporting area children, teens and young adults.

WHEN:  May 18, 2014.  Pre-event orientation begins at 11:00 am.  Free shuttle to starting line at 12:00 noon.  Race begins at 12:30 pm.

WHERE:  Meet at the Whitewater Challengers Rafting Center, 288 North Stagecoach Road, Weatherly, PA 18255 -  and race through the Lehigh Gorge State Park.

HOW:  Gather together a team of 4, 5, or 6 participants.  Submit your application form before May 12, along with your registration fee.  And enjoy a terrific triathlon adventure, complete with prizes, and free T-shirts for each participant.

COST: $45 per person before 5/1, and $60/person after 5/1. 

PRIZES: A team trophy and individual medallions will be awarded to teams finishing in first, second and third place.  All participants receive a complimentary Triathlon T-shirt.

THE FINE PRINT:  All participants must be at least 14 years of age.  Any participant who is a minor child (under age 18) must be accompanied on the team by a parent or legal guardian.  Each participant is required to attend a safety orientation one hour before registration, and sign an Assumption of Risk and Agreement Not to Sue form.  Teams may be all male, all female, or coed. 

WHITEWATER EXPERIENCE:  One member of each team needs to have prior paddling experience on a Class III (or greater) whitewater river.  If no one on your teams qualifies - no worries - you can hire a qualified, experienced guide from Whitewater Challengers to join your team.  Just include an additional $45 with your registration form and fee.  Or, if you prefer, any registered team can join a guided trips with Whitewater Challengers, and raft the Lehigh on Saturday May 10, or on Saturday May 17 - getting a good look at the whitewater part of the race course - for just $25 per person (regular rate is $65.55).
