Gatlinburg Gateway Triathlon 2010 :
triathlon : Swim ½ mile, Bike 12.4 miles, Run 3.1 miles

When: Saturday, April 10^th, 2010. First start time: 8:30 AM; then in groups of 12 every 15 - 20 minutes.

Registration: ALL participants must pre-register; registration forms must be received by Saturday, April 5^th. Check-in begins at 7:30 AM, on the day of the race, and continues through the morning. You are asked to check-in as early as possible.

Race Meeting: There will be a meeting to discuss race rules and safety at 8:00 AM, on the day of the race. All entries must attend.

Divisions: 14 19 yrs; 20 29; 30 39; 40 49; 50 +; (Subject to change).

All age brackets will have a mens & womens category. Proof of age may be requested.

Team Relay: Two or three person teams do a leg (or two) of the race; fastest time wins.

Teams can be made up of competitors any age from 8 years up, EXCEPT the bike portion, which must be done by someone 14 years or older.

Entry Fees: $25 for individuals; $60 per relay team.

Note: Please include an extra $5 and check the box on your application for a delicious lunch from Whole Earth Grocery after the race (well worth the $).

Course Information:

The Race: This will be a Sprint Triathlon, in the beautiful foothills of the Smoky Mountains.

Swim: .5 mile in our indoor pool.
Bike Race: 20 Km on the outskirts of Gatlinburg.
Run: 5 Km along scenic Ogle Road, and finishing at the Community Center.

Directions:

I-40 exit 407, Hwy 66 to Sevierville, Hwy 441 to Gatlinburg, Hwy 321 (traffic light #3) to Mills Park Road (approx. 5.5 miles on left), Community Center driveway is the 1st left.
