This race course is at a great red rock landscape.  The swim is in Lake Powell off the State Line boat ramp in Wahweep and Run/Bike is in Glen Canyon National Park.  The landscape has beautiful views of lake and the majestic cliffs in Wahweep Marina.  This is one of the best end of season triathlons with water and air temps averaging around 72 degrees each.  The packet pickup is in the park at Lake Powell Resort.  Traditionally capped around 300 participants for this race however Glen Canyon National Park has promised to increase the size of this race to 500 in 2014 because of the demand. All levels of participants race here at this USAT sanctioned event. 

Course Information:


Sprint Course

-Swim 750 Meters - This one lap counter-clockwise triangle swim has three buoys measuring 250 meters apart with at least one lifeguard with wave runner/kayak for support per 250 meters.  The swim background is the majestic Wahweep hills and cliffs. 
-Transition - On this race the transition is important to note.  Coming out of the water there is a good climb up the boat ramp around 400 yards into the transition area. 
-Bike 12 Miles - This one lap bike loop leave the State Line Marina and travels a fairly flat incline until Mile 5 then climbs hard 300 feet to miles 7 then the remaining 5 miles is downhill with views of Wahweep in the background.  This course is split in two states Arizona and Utah. (No customs to worry about though)
-Run 3.1 Miles - This out and back course has a slight incline 100 feet over 1.55 miles then back down to State Line. 

Olympic Course

-Swim 1500 Meters - This two lap counter-clockwise triangle swim has three buoys measuring 250 meters apart with at least one lifeguard with wave runner/kayak for support per 250 meters.  The swim background is the majestic Wahweep hills and cliffs. 
-Transition - On this race the transition is important to note.  Coming out of the water there is a good climb up the boat ramp around 400 yards into the transition area. 
-Bike 24 Miles - This two lap bike loop leave the State Line Marina and travels a fairly flat incline until Mile 5 then climbs hard 300 feet to miles 7 then the remaining 5 miles is downhill with views of Wahweep in the background.  The course is repeated for the Olympic Distance.  This course is split in two states Arizona and Utah. (No customs to worry about though)
-Run 6.2 Miles - This out and back course has a slight incline 100 feet with some small rolling hills over 3.1 miles then back down to State Line.

Directions:

Head to Page, Arizona, then to Wahweep Maina at Glen Canyon National Park.  There are several ways to get here!!!  Wahweep Marina is 2 miles North of Page, Arizona so you might pass it if you are coming from Utah.
