A 5 week series covering methods of reducing injury risk

and improving performance

 

Week 1:  Running technique: An overview of different aspects of running technique followed by analysis of each participants running form and an introduction to running form drills

 

Week 2:  Stretching: Learn new stretching techniques focusing on dynamic stretching and active isolated stretching

 

Week 3:    Core strengthening:  Experience an intense core workout that you can do at home

 

Week 4:   Massage:  Practice self-massage techniques to decrease pain and tightness

 

Week 5:    Strength training for runners:  Participate in strengthening exercises that you can do at home or at the gym, including more advanced dynamic stretching activities

 

Runners of all experience levels will benefit from this workshop series!

 

Come dressed to actively participate in each workshop.  For week 1 we may analyze running form outside or inside on the treadmill.

 

Workshops will be offered January 13-February 11

Mondays in Mount Airy at Choice Physical Therapy 7:00-8:15 pm

Tuesdays in King at By Foot Sports 6:45-8:00 pm

$45 for the 5 week series, price includes a stretching rope, a lacrosse ball to use for massage, and informational handouts

 

Preregistration required by January 7.  Workshops will have a minimum of 6 and a maximum of 12 participants.
