Brief Description

Come out and support the Library by running a 5K or grabbing your bike and participating in a Duathlon. Great shirts & awards. Loads of fun. All proceeds go to Friends of the Library.

5K & Duathlon

There will be a RUN ONLY 5K as well as a RUN-BIKE-RUN Duathlon. Pick the one you think will be the most fun.

5K Course

The 5K course will be an out & back using Allen & Perimeter roads...mostly flat, with a few hills thrown in for fun.

Duathlon Course

The 1st run portion of the Duathlon will utilize Allen St. & Memory lane and will be very flat (just under 1 mile). The bike will be an out and back up Hwy. 9 into Lumpkin county (approximately 15 miles), and the final run will follow the 5K course (3.1) miles.

Fun Run Course

Flat single loop down memory lane & behind Food Lion, just under 1 mile.

Entry Fee & Registration

Registration by 10/6 is $25 for the 5K, $35 for the 10K, $15 for the Fun Run. All 5K & Duathlon participants are guaranteed a tech shirt. Fun Run participants have option to receive a shirt.

Race Day Schedule

7:00 am...Race day registration & transition open. 8:30 am...5K & Duathlon both start. 9:30 am...Fun Run starts.

Late & Day of registrations

Race day registrations are welcome for $5 more. Shirts will be available while supplies last.

Shirts

Technical shirts (unisex & women's sizes) guaranteed to all 5K & Duathlon participants registered by 10/6. Fun Run participants will have the option to get a shirt for $5 additional. All registrations afterwards will receive a shirt while supplies last.

Awards

Custom awards to the overall M/F winners for the 5K as well as top 3 in the 5yr age groups (10 & under - 65+). Custom awards to the overall M/F winner for the Duathlon as well as top 3 in 10yr age groups (19 & under - 60+). The top 3 fun run participants will also receive awards.

Five Star Crown Series, 5K Champ, & Turkey Trot

All participants will automatically qualify for FREE entry into the Five Star Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot, as well as earn points for the 2013 Crown Series. Top finishers of the 5K will also have the opportunity to earn a spot in the 5K championships to be held on Dec. 15, 2013. The number of spots available is based on the total registration...see event website for details.
