Student Academy of Audiology (SAA) is hosting this 5K run/walk to benefit individuals with hearing impairment. There will also be a short Fun Run for any children that wish to participate (children do not need to register for this event). Everyone is encouraged to wear their Halloween costume but they are not required. This fundraiser aims to raise money for the Wendell Johnson Speech and Hearing Clinic scholarship/assistance fund. We will be using this money to partially fund scholarships for the summer Listen and Speak Up Program (LSU). LSU is a 6 week summer program held bi-weekly for children with hearing impairment, many of whom wear hearing aids or cochlear implants. These children participate in a small preschool environment and receive group and individual speech and hearing services. We will also allocate funds to help hearing impaired adults who do not qualify for Medicaid but also cannot afford the high cost of hearing aids. Race Packet Pick up: Race packets will be available for pick-up on Friday October 25th from 4pm 7pm at City Park shelter #5. Race day registration will begin at 7:00 AM Sunday October 27th 2013.
