| Looking to get in a good, well run race, but also give back to the community? Look no further! The TriCats and Hannah's Heroes will be co-hosting a Splash 'n' Dash on Oct 13th with benefits going to both the TriCats and Diamond Children's Hospital. 100% of the proceeds raised by Hannah's Heroes will go to Diamond Children's Hospital. What is it? The Splash 'n' Dash is an aquathlon, which is a race comprised of both a swim and run. What should I expect for in this race? There are three separate race categories: one for adults, one for children(6 and up), and one Super Sprint distance race. The adults will partake in an 825 yard swim and 5k run, while the kids will do a 175 yard swim and a 0.5 mile run. The parent child race will also do a 175 yard swim and 0.5 mile run. The Super Sprint has distances of 75 yard swim and 0.25 mile run. How much does it cost? The prices are as follows: 1 Adult - $25 1 Child (ages 6-12) - $25 1 Super Sprint - $25 1 Relay - $45 After 8/31 (deadline for free t-shirts) 1 Adult - $30 1 Child (ages 6-12) - $30 1 Super Sprint - $30 1 Relay - $55 After 10/4 1 Adult - $35 1 Child (ages 6-12) - $35 1 Super Sprint - $35 1 Relay - $65 When should I arrive? The first wave of participants will begin at 1 PM. We will release more information on what wave you are in closer to the date of the event. As a rule of thumb, plan to get there at 12 PM so you have ample time to check-in, preview the course, and get warmed up. Here is a tentative schedule: 1 PM- Registration and Check-in opens 2 PM - First youth wave begins 2:10 PM - Second youth wave begins 2:20 PM - First adult wave begins 2:40 PM - Second adult wave begins 3:00 PM - Third Adult wave begins 3:20 PM - First Super Sprint wave 3:30 PM - Second Super Sprint wave What do I get with my entry fee? Your entry fee goes towards the production of a well-run race, a race t-shirt, post-race food, and a goody bag. What else do I need to know? For this years race, we will be featuring a large raffle with all sorts of great proceeds. Like your entry fee, your purchase of a raffle ticket will go directly towards helping the TriCats and Diamond's Children Hospital. Tickets will be sold for $5 each. |
