2010 Peaks to Prairie Triathlon:

  • Peaks to Prairie is a unique Montana challenge that spans from the heights of the Beartooth Mountains to the open majesty of the Yellowstone River.
  • The traditional Peaks to Prairie route involves an 8.8 mile run leg, a 44 mile bicycle leg, and a 22 mile paddling leg, in that order.
  • Competitors can choose between the triathlon that covers these three legs, or a duathlon that covers the first two legs only.
  • Course Information:

  • The start gun will send the runners into Red Lodge from the Custer National Forest Sign for an 8.8 mile race.
  • The bike portion from Red Lodge to Riverside Park (south of Laurel) is about 44 miles.
  • The river leg of this race is about 22 miles.
  • The route concludes at Coulson Park.
