2013 Beaver Fever Duathlon and Triathlon:
- The Duathlon was started in 2003 as a fundraiser for the team.
- This year, the Beaver Fever Du will be expanded to include a triathlon! Also, the event will be chip timed.
- Longer than the traditional sprint, the bike course features a beautiful 18.1 mile ride with a challenging 2 mile hill climb.
- The run is also unique. It is a fun two loop cross-country course.

The Road Run
The 5k run (Google Map) leaves the Philomath Middle School and travels over country roads and residential streets on the edge of Philomath. Participants then transition to either the road or mountain bike course.

The 18.1 Mile Road Bike
The 18.1 mile road course (Google Map) makes a loop south of Philomath on smooth country roads. It features a moderate hill in the first five miles. The two mile Decker hill, which peaks at 720 ft at mile 9.3, is followed by an exciting descent. The usual mountain bike course will not be open this year do to logging in Starker forest. A mountain bike division is available.

Your final leg will be on the high school XC course. It is a fast and flat course with a 300 meter track finish.

Directions:
Middle school location: 2021 Chapel Drive Philomath, OR 97370
From I-5: Take exit 228, HWY 34 and head west towards Corvallis. At HWY 20, turn left at the light where the sign points you to Newport and Reser Stadium. Continue on HWY 20/Philomath Blvd until you reach Philomath. Go left at the first light (19th st). Go two blocks, then turn left onto Applegate St. High School parking lots are two blocks ahead on your right. Take the running trail that extends behind the high school south towards the middle school and transition area/registration area.

High School location: 2054 Apple Gate Street Philomath, OR 97370
You must park at the Philomath High School, which is just north of the middle school. Parking is not allowed at any of the middle school parking lots due to church services. Unfortunately, violators will be towed. From the high school parking lot, follow the trail along the baseball fields south to the transition area.
