Travel the land of Chief Quanah Parker as you ride over the open plains into the depths of Blanco Canyon. Take your time and enjoy the views or push yourself along the punishing landscape to the finish line in Crosbyton. The ride will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2013, at 8:00 a.m. There will be a choice of three routes: a 100 kilometer, 26 mile, or 10 mile tour.

Numbers must be worn so that they are visible from the front to receive SAG Wagon support and service at rest stops.

Each entry will receive a meal ticket for a breakfast beginning at 6:30 a.m. in the Prairie Ladies Multicultural Center at 126 Berkshire Street and a meal ticket for lunch served from 12:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. in the Crosby County Pioneer Memorial Museum. Extra meal tickets for lunch can be purchased for $5.00.

The proceeds from the ride will be donated to breast cancer research.

Ride will be held rain or shine. No refunds.

Course Information:

All three rides start at the Crosby County Pioneer Memorial Museum, 101 West Main Street, Crosbyton, Texas at 8:00 a.m. All three courses follow a rectangular course. The 10 mile goes east from Crosbyton for five miles to Silver Falls Rest Area and back to Crosbyton. Though the shortest in distance, it is a challenging ride as the course drops to the bottom of Blanco Canyon, turns around in Silver Falls Rest Area, and returns up the caprock to Crosbyton.

The 26 mile ride goes west to Ralls and turns north on US-62, east on Ranch Road 1471, and south to return to Crosbyton on FM 651. The terrain consists of level farmland with little traffic.

The 100 kilometer ride will descend and rise from Blanco Canyon twice.

Other Info:

Pre-registration will be accepted through September 23. Pre-registrants are eligible for a drawing for a Bag of Cash holding $500.00. Late registration is accepted the day of the race from 7:00 a.m.-8:00 a.m. at the south parking lot of the Crosby County Pioneer Memorial Museum on 101 West Main Street/US-82.
