Racers in the Double and Triple IRON Triathlons face some very experienced international competition. Well-known ultra triathletes, many defending world championships, come from many countries, as well as from around the US. Competitors swim in beautiful Lake Anna, bike along scenic, low-traffic state park roads, and run on a shaded course that winds through the beautiful, wooded Lake Anna State Park.

Course Information:

Swim is in beautiful Lake Anna, 12 laps of a out and back course, can stand up at both ends in waist deep water,  your support crew wade out to bring your nutrition to you every so many laps (your choosing).  12 laps for the Double and 18 for the Triple.

Bike is along a 2.5 mile State Park Road from the athlete village area to the front of the park and return; 45 laps for the Double and 67.5 for the Triple.

Run is along a State Park Road as well, the first 1/2 mile is the same as the bike course (so the first runners will be sharing with the bikers for a bit), then you turn right for another 1/2 mile to the turnaround.

Directions:

Centrally and strategically located on the East Coast, Lake Anna State Park is accessible from Baltimore Washington International (BWI), Dulles International and Washington Reagan National Airports, located in Washington DC. Byrd International Airport in Richmond, VA is an alternative to Washington DC. All four airports are roughly an hour to an hour and a half drive to Lake Anna State Park. As well, Lake Anna is an easy one-day's driving distance from more than two-thirds of the nation's population. If you are flying, you will need a rental vehicle.

From 95 North or South:
- Exit 118 Thornburg
- Travel west on 606 for 5 miles
- Route 606 turns into Route 208W
- Travel on 208 for 11 miles (you will take a sharp left turn at Post Oak while traveling on 208)
- Turn right onto Route 601. Travel 3 miles
- Lake Anna State Park is on the left
-Proceed all the way down the park road until you reach the Lake
