The Owasso YMCA is partnering with the Bailey Medical Center PLAY program to hold the Bailey Medical Center Strong Kids Triathlon. All proceeds go to the YMCA Strong Kids Campaign which offers financial support to kids. The Bailey Medical Center PLAY Program is designed to offer parents and youth opportunities to participate in activities and learn about creating healthier families in our community. Several other organizations have reached out to become partners with us in this vision./.
Course Information:
Swim: 100 Yards (2 Laps)
You will be required to enter a swim time when you register. This will allow us to put kids in order by swim time. Swimmers will start in 15-second intervals. The swim is a 100-yard snake swim. Goggles are recommended.
Bike: 3 Miles ?
Kids will leave the transition area on their bikes for a 3-mile bike ride. The course will be closed to traffic during the triathlon. BIKE HELMETS ARE REQUIRED TO PARTICIPATE.
Run: 1 Mile
Kids will leave their bikes and exit the transition area for a 1-mile run in Rayola Park next to the YMCA.
Swim/Bike/Run Transition Area
?Kids will have an opportunity to set-up their transition area from 6:30-7:45. Parents will not be allowed into the transition area after 7:45. This area will be for your child's equipment and clothing. Most triathletes will wear their swimsuit through the entire event and only change into shoes, socks and shirt in the transitiona area.
