These races are professionally chip timed events including a 1-mile Kids race with finisher ribbons for the youth that particpate in the Kids race. The races will be small and take place near a new park with carousel, pedal boats, and a great playground so be sure to bring your kids!
Course Information:
The 5k race course runs from the
west end of the Multipurpose fields parking lot off of 108th Ave and
Colorado Blvd in Thornton, CO. There will be an aid station with water
just past the midway point of the course when you are south of the
lake. The course will not be certified, but rest assured we will use
the techniques and equipment of certified race courses. Cones will mark
this scenic and hilly race course. The course is challenging and very
scenic winding through new trails at the Multipurpose fields and past
the new Carpenter Park (bring your kids!) There are two sections of
trail that are not hard cement, one is on the west end of the course as
you head east towards the lake, the other is just prior to the finish as
you complete the only out and back portion of the very southern part of
the course.
The 1-Mile Kids Run will use the main paved loop of the Multipurpose fields.
