  • NEW THIS YEAR:  ATHENA AND CLYDESDALE WEIGHT CLASSES!
  • Our goals are to encourage people to adopt a healthy and active lifestyle by committing to training for this event, to invite experienced athletes to try a new type of event, and to raise some money for The Gavers Community Cancer Foundation in the process.
  • Since the course is accessible and the swim is in a pool, it is a great opportunity for first-time triathletes to give it a go, and for experienced ones to see some amazing times!
  • This race takes place in Woodstock's BEAUTIFUL Emricson Park, and is sure to be fun for the entire family.
  • Course Information:

This event will take place at Woodstock Water Works, which is located in Emricson Park, just off of the Kishwaukee Valley Rd. entrance.

The swimming portion will take place in the lap pool.

Transition areas will be located in the parking lot immediately to the south of the pool.

The cycling event will go through the park and head west on South St, continuing on Collins Rd. Turn left on Vermont Rd, left on Secor Rd, left on Franklinville Rd and right back onto South St. Follow South St PAST the entrance to the park, then turn left on Hill St, left on Jackson St, and left into the parking lot of the Woodstock Water Works and back into the transition area.

Finally, the running portion will be contained within the park, utilizing the paved walking/jogging path, completed twice. The children's event will be contained entirely within the park.

    Transition Area:
The parking lot to the south of Woodstock Water Works will be set aside as transition area for all transitions.
Bike racks will be provided and volunteers will be on hand to monitor the area.

    Swim (400yds adults/team, 50/100yds children):
This will take place in Woodstock Water Works' 8 lane lap pool. Participants will be arranged based on swim time provided below.
One swimmer will start every 10-15 seconds, serpentine swim (down and back in each lane, then over to the next, repeat).
WWW staff lifeguards will be on duty in the lap pool ONLY.

    Bike (12.4 miles):
From the transition area, you will ride through the park to the South St exit. Turn left onto South St and continue onto Collins Rd. At the stop sign, turn left onto Vermont Rd, the left onto Secor Rd, and left onto Franklinville Rd. This brings you back to South St. Turn right onto South St and continue PAST the entrance to the park. Turn left on Hill St, then left on Jackson St, and left into the Woodstock Water Works parking lot, and back into the transition area. This is a fairly easy course with some hills.
For the safety of all riders, DRAFTING is prohibited!
Also, please note that use of audio devices (mp3 players, radios, etc.) is prohibited, and helmets are MANDATORY. Race in progress signs will be posted but traffic will remain open.
Volunteers will direct traffic as needed, but please observe the rules of the road and be cautious!
For the children's event, bicycles will follow the jogging path in the park, completing the loop twice.

    Run (3.5 miles):
After returning your bike to the transition area, you will follow the paved jogging path through Emricson Park.
The loop will be completed twice, clockwise.
This is a moderately hilly course, but the scenery should distract from the extra effort!
The finish line will be near the transition area so spectators don't have very far to go.
For the children's event, runners will complete a 1 mile path through the park.

    Rest Stops & Refreshments:
Restrooms are located inside of Woodstock Water Works and at the half-way point of the running course loop.
Water and snacks will be available at the transition area, at several points along both the biking and running course, and at the finish line.

    Directions:

From Route 47, turn onto Route 14 heading west.

Turn right onto Kishwaukee Valley Rd/Jackson St.

Turn right into the Woodstock Water Works entrance of Emricson Park.
