A Zombie Run is a hybrid 5k race with slight obstacles along the way. Like other obstacle races, runners navigate through various obstacles. Unlike other obstacle races, runners try to dodge and escape from zombies roaming the course trying to grab flags from runners' flagbelts, similar to flag football. Zombies are other runners, or event staff/volunteers placed around obstacles. Zombies will not physically touch you other than to grab 1 of the 3 flags from your flagbelt. You can choose to run the race as a zombie or a survivor. Survivors are given a 2.5 minute head start from zombie runners. The object for the survivor is to outlast the zombies and continue to the end of the 5k race with at least one flag left in your flagbelt. Should all 3 flags be removed before your 5k race is completed, you simply complete the race ... as an infected person. Event includes a kids trot at 10 a.m. and 2k walk.

Course Information:

The cross country course is held in Deer Path Park. Grass paths are easy to traverse. The course will include obstacles such as hay bale jump and 3d maze that are meant to be fun not muddy. This race is rain or shine unless the weather is deemed dangerous.

Directions:

FROM CLINTON / I-78: Take route 31 south about 6.4 miles from Interstate 78. Turn left onto West Woodschurch Road, following signs for DEER PATH PARK and DEER PATH YMCA. Proceed about 0.7 miles on West Woodschurch Road (passing Deer Path Road on the right) to the joint entrance to DEER PATH PARK and the YMCA, on the right. Turn right into the entrance; a second immediate right is the entrance to the YMCA. The park entrance road continues straight, passing a supplementary parking lot on the left and ending at the main parking lot near the rest rooms.

FROM FLEMINGTON (Circle - junction of Routes 31, 202 and 12): Take Route 31 north about 4 miles from the Flemington Circle. Turn right onto West Woodschurch Road, following signs for Deer Path Park and the YMCA. Proceed about .7 miles on West Woodschurch Road to the park entrance on the right.
