Welcome to our Festival of Races in the Sandhills Region of Nebraska where you will be greeted with small town hospitality. A $1,000 1st place prize in the half marathon men's division and half marathon women's division is sure to entice you to participate. That's right you read correctly, $1,000 to 1st place in both half marathon divisions. Register as an individual ($25) or register as a 2-person relay team ($20 per person). Relay teams can be co-ed, male or female. Relay teams are restricted from winning the $1,000 1st place prize but can win $100. Each person on the relay team must go through the registration process.

Want a shorter race? Enter to run in our 5K or enter to walk in our 2.5 mile walk. Entry fee is $20 per person.

All race participants will be treated to a FREE breakfast at the conclusion of their race. Their guests are invited to the free breakfast but will be asked to provide a free will donation.

All Sport Central will be providing the following: Chip Timing for all race events except for the 2.5 mile walk, photography, Time Tracker and live results.

Attention all Atkinson youth! There is a benefit to participating in the race other than bragging rights and winning prizes. Keating Resources is encouraging all Atkinson youth who are 18 years of age or younger to participate in one of the races. Keating Resources will donate $25 to the charity or school group of the youths choice. Atkinson youth have a unique opportunity to not only raise money for this special Memorial Scholarship Fund but for other charities.

The Sandhills Region of Nebraska welcomes runners to Atkinson, Nebraska. The flat course is comprised of mostly paved roads that run through downtown and surrounding neighborhoods where runners will be greeted with cheers from energetic spectators and then the half marathon course travels out into our beautiful gently rolling prairies and agriculture community utilizing paved roads and a few well-maintained gravel roads while crossing the scenic Elkorn River multiple times and visiting the Atkinson Lake at Mill Race Park. The start and finish lines will be located downtown on Main Street. The 5k and 2.5 mile walk course will be on part of the same course as the half marathon but will stay on the streets in town. Streets in town will be closed to all traffic during the races. All courses will close at 11 am. The average temperature for May is in the 70s.
