A very unique point to point Sprint Triathlon with 1/4 mile swim, 15 mile bike ride and 4 mile out and back run.  The entire community's involvement is what will make this a fun one to come back to and do it year after year.  Great T-Shirts, unique finisher medals, prizes and great post party afterward.  Open to 15 years and older, this race can be done individually or as a team.  All three aspects of the Sprint will have plenty of volunteers and safety personnel available and will be well labeled.

Course Information:

Unusual point to point race:  The race begins at Lake George Regional Park on the Skowhegan/Canann line in Maine.  The 1/4 mile swim begins at the East Shore and participants will swim around the island where spectators and fans will be able to see the entire swim!  The bike transition is at the West Shore.  The bike ride is a 15 mile flat country road with a few rolling hills, big "break down" lanes to travel in to Somerset Sports and Fitness in Skowhegan.  The run is a out and back 4 mile run that travels down along the beautiful River Walk, ending with a challenging couple of hills to finish.  The race is being officially timed and will have Police Escorts, EMS Services and plenty of volunteers.

Directions:

The start - Lake George Regional Park - is a beautiful park located on RTE#2 in Skowhegan,  The race begins at the East Shore, with plenty of viewing area for spectators on the West Shore's island, where participants will be able to view the entire swim!  The 1/4 mile swim ends at the West Shore where the bike transition is.  From the West Shore, the bikers will travel on RTE#2 for a very short distance before they turn on to Oak Pond Road.  Travelling on Oak Pond Road they will then take a left on to the River Road and then a right on to Hinckley Bridge.  After going over the bridge, they will take a right onto Rte#201 and go the last 6 miles to Somerset Sports and Fitness in Skowhegan.  They will turn right onto Commerce Drive to the run transition.  The run is a 4 mile out and back route that has runners on RTE#201, the local neighborhood, the River Walk and then back to SSF vis RTE#201.
