A Kensington tradition since 1994, the 20th Annual Kensington
8K Race, 2 Mile Challenge and 1K Fun Run has something for
everyone. The 8K is a challenging race combining both hills and flats through
Old Town Kensington and Rock Creek Park. Its a great training run for the
experienced runner, a touchstone event for the intermediate runner, and a
milestone for the beginning runner. The 2 mile challenge and 1K fun run are events
that both adult and younger runners really enjoy, giving everyone in the family
a fall race to run in Kensington. Race proceeds support academic and extracurricular
programs at Kensington Parkwood Elementary, North Bethesda Middle, and Walter
Johnson High Schools.
Directions:
From the Capital Beltway
Take 495 (Capital Beltway) to Connecticut Ave. (Exit 33). Go north toward Kensington approximately 2 miles and turn right on Knowles Ave. (t4th traffic light). Go one block. Turn right on Armory Ave. The Kensington Town Hall is on the corner of Armory Ave. and Mitchell St.
From
Rockville/Bethesda
Take Rockville Pike/Wisconsin Avenue to Strathmore Avenue. Go east toward Kensington approximately 2
miles on Strathmore, which becomes Knowles.
Cross Connecticut Ave. Go one block. Turn right on Armory Ave. The
Kensington Town Hall is on the corner of Armory Ave. and Mitchell St.
