The Atomic Duathlon and Sprint Triathlon returns in 2013! You now have an fall triathlon choice with a 500 meter swimor 5K added to the 30K Bike and 5K run courses.
Enjoy the fall colors during either event. Wildlife abounds in this rural yet easily accessible area - beaver, deer, ground hogs, etc. Camping on-site and numerous hotels and restaurants within 5 miles in Lenoir City.
Hammer Nutrition products in race packets and GU will be available on courses.
Course Information:
Triathlon - Swim in the cool, clear Melton Hill Lake. Water is expected to be wetsuit legal. Same bike and run courses are used in Triathlon and duathlon.
Duathlon: Both run courses use the TVA Melton Hill Park roads for the out and back 5K runs. Aid stations featuring products from Hammer Nutrition will be passed each mile of this rolling course. Run Course Map Link: http://www.mapmyride.com/routes/view/48328082
The bike course has two turn-arounds on the 30K course. The first is at the 7.25 mile mark on Hwy. 95 & second at Central Training Facility approximately 2 miles down Bear Creek Road.Bikes head back to park after second turn-around. Terrain is a mix of hills and flats. No aid stations on bike.
