2013 marks the 5th Anniversary of the Payson, Arizona Mountain High Games. The anchor of the games is a 5k Mud Run called the The Mogollon Monster Mudder. Co-produced by the Town of Payson Parks, Recreation and Tourism Department and the surrounding Rim Country Fire Departments (Payson FD, Hells Gate FD, Tonto Basin FD, Houston Mesa FD, and Christopher Creek FD, Whispering Pines FD, Beaver FD, Pine/Strawberry FD), this 5k Mud Run will be epic.
The course make up will be developed using mountain trails with natural and man-made obstacles. Below is a sampling of just some of the obstacles that are being planned for this challenging, yet fun course!

This will be a timed event, (limited age categories) with emphasis on FUN, TEAMWORK and helpingeach other finish safely. Although teams are encouraged they are not a must. You will all be timed independently but all team members are encouraged to cross the finish together. Costumes encouraged! There will be a special prize for the best Big Foot Costume that best resembles the Mogollon Monster. The run will also features a Mini Kidz Monster Mud Run for ages 6-12 years of age.
If coming from Phoenix take Highway 87 (Beeline Highway) North to Payson. At the first stop light take a left and you are at the Payson Event Center. Located directly accross from the Mazatazal Casino.
