A whole new place! A whole new race! A whole new year!

Beaches Fine Arts Series, home of the annual fundraising endeavor known as BFAS Racing, is proud to announce the 2013 triathlons will be held at Naval Station Mayport! We are so excited to be able to present a fantastic bike course with so many things to see and enjoy at the base, while at the same time supporting the wonderful programs of BFAS.

And, if that's not enough, we are also thrilled to announce the addition of an Olympic Distance triathlon at the last race of the triathlon sprint series on July 13th!

All BFAS races are sanctioned by USA Triathlon insuring a safe, competive and enjoyable experience for every participant.  The BFAST Olympic Triathlon is a Swim, Bike & Run longer distance race for participants 16 and older as of 12/31/2013.

Enjoy awards provided by the official host bike shop of BFAS Racing, Trek Bicycle Store, and delicious food provided by our official Finish-Line food sponsor, Native Sun. 

Beaches Fine Art Series (BFAS) is a non-federal entity. It is not a part of the Department of Defense or any of its components and it has no governmental status. Nor is this event officially endorsed by the Department of Defense, the U.S. Navy or Naval Station Mayport.

Competing in this race allows Beaches Fine Arts Series to bring top-quality artists from all over the world who perform FREE concerts in North Florida and who provide FREE educational outreach programs with FREE BUSING to thousands of elementary, middle and high school students in our area.

Course Information:

BFAST OLYMPIC DISTANCE TRIATHLON RACE COURSE

The BFAST Olympic Distance Triathlon encompasses 3 legs: Swim, Bike and Run.

Swim Course:

  • The swim course is a .93 mile point to point swim parallel to the beach with prevailing current or alternative course based on conditions. 
Bike Course:
  • The bike course includes 3 loops of 8.4 miles each, totaling 25.2 miles and offers a highly competitive course with exciting views of the base. 
Run Course:
  • The run course is a 6.2 mile loop that allows the participant to explore the pleasant residential and recreational areas of Naval Station Mayport.

Directions:

The Naval Station is located at the end of Mayport Road. 

From the north:
  • Take I-95 South to the 9A exit. Get off on Atlantic Boulevard and drive east until you cross the Intracoastal Waterway.
  • After crossing the waterway, take the first exit on the right to Mayport Road.
  • Continue for approximately five miles.
  • You will enter the Naval Station through the main gate.
    From the South:
  • Take I-95 North to J. Turner Butler Boulevard. Go east to the San Pablo exit and turn left.
  • Drive across Beach Boulevard, continuing to Atlantic Boulevard and turn right on to Atlantic at the light.
  • After crossing the Intercoastal waterway, take the first exit on the right to Mayport Road.
  • Continue for approximately five miles.
  • You will enter the Naval Station through the main gate.
    From Interstate I-10 East:
  • Continue to I-95 South, exit at US Highway 90 (Beaches) until it splits into Atlantic Boulevard and Beach Boulevard. Take Atlantic Boulevard and turn right on to Atlantic at the light.
  • After crossing the Intercoastal waterway, take the first exit on the right to Mayport Road.
  • Continue for approximately five miles.
  • You will enter the Naval Station through the main gate.
