Heck, yeah! Get off your road bike and hit the dirt. Forget about skinny tires, aero bars and aero helmets, folks. This is a mountain bike triathlon. 2013 will be the fifth year for Life Time Tri Urban Dirt and we want you to help us sell it out again! This is likely to be the best time you will ever have in Spandex. 11 a.m. race start, Slip-N-Slide and a beer garden finish! See you there!
Course Information:
This is a sprint distance triathlon, in the dirt. All athletes will start in Tempe Town Lake, transition in the sand (yeah, sand!) near the Marina volleyball courts, then bike and run on the trails through Papago Park (there are some hills). Then, just when you think it's all over, trudge through the sandy homestretch and Slip-N-Slide your way to happiness!
Directions:
Spectators and athletes are welcome to park underneath the Loop 202 Freeway in the free public parking spaces. This is also known as Lake View Drive. You may also park in the Marquee parking lot or by Rio Operations (under the overpass). Spectators, please be parked by 11:15 a.m. race morning. Park under Loop 202 along Lake View Drive and Mill Avenue and walk east along the path. DO NOT PARK in the Marina, as we would like to leave this area for boaters! Thank you for parking elsewhere.
