We have moved the triathlon to a location where we can have wide open
roads with virtually zero traffic. With the cooperation of parents this
course should be worry free. We will be utilizing the new Taylor Road
to Ray Thorington Connector route that will be closed to traffic.
Swim will take place at 7:30am at Breckenridge Community off Ray Thorington Road.
Both Transitions will close at 7:10. You will need to be on-site for chip distribution, body marking, and instructions no later than 6:45... it's very sad to see folks miss the race because they are late.. it happens each year.
For the 6-8 year olds both transitions AND THE FINISH will occur in Breckenridge. We will complete this race before we begin the other two divisions this year for added safety. No floaties and no training wheels... baskets, streamers, and bells are cool though. Way Cool !
For 9-11 and 12-15 Swim start will be at Breckenridge and the bike to run transition (T2) will be at the Wilson YMCA, T2 MAP This will also be the location of the finish for these two age groups.
So if you are 9-15 you will swim at Breckenridge, get on your bike at Breckenridge, ride the course, and park your bike at Wilson YMCA to begin your run.. after the run you will finish back at the Wilson YMCA in the community of New Park. Clear as mud? We will have a pre race meeting and packet pickup at Montgomery Multisport on Friday August 10th at 5pm to go over the basics then we will head to the course to review it on site.
Parents and Spectators !! IF you wish to watch your 9-15 year old swim AND finish you will have to commute 1.75 miles from the pool to the YMCA... we MAY have a bus to transfer you. The road will be closed to all traffic, including you... so bring walking shoes and travel light. Sorry, but to make the course safe something had to give.
ALL finishers get a medal and a sweet race t-shirt !
Awards will be 3 deep male and female in each age group. Did I mention we love Baptist Health !
As always we'll have quite the party at the finish !!!
You must have a helmet to compete. If you are on your bike at anytime without a helmet you will be disqualified.
You may hold on to a lane rope during the swim but you cannot use it to advance.
You may not receive outside assistance during the race except for a race official or volunteer.
Parents are not allowed to interfere with the race. Your child will be disqualified.
Drafting is not allowed, a minimum of 2 bike lengths is required between bikes. The person being passed must yield.
Please note the USAT rule book for other standard rules.
