2013 Tigershark Triathlon #1:

  • The race will start with an ocean swim, followed by an 8 mile bike on SR AIA and finish with a 3 mile run on the hard packed sands of Daytona Beach Shores.
  • This is a great Sprint triathlon for beginners as well as seasoned veterans.
  • The location is gorgeous on the most famous beach, the course is fun and the support is amazing.

    • Course Information:



    Swim:
  • Swim will be staffed by Volusia County Beach Patrol lifeguards.
  • You'll get to experience a running beach entry into the ocean - the waves may greet you with a welcome or a challenge.
  • The ocean swim is 400 meters.
  • Exit the water and run across the beach up a ramp to the tranisition.

    Bike:
  • Bike course will be open to traffic, but patrolled by Law Enforcement.
  • The 8 mile ride is flat and fast.

    Run:
  • Return to tranisiton for a 3 mile out and back packed sand beach run.
  • The run course will be outside the beach driving areas.

    • Directions:



    From I-95, take exit #256, Dunlawton/Port Orange and travel east to SR AIA.
    Turn left (north) and go 2 miles.
    The park entrance is on the right side of the road.
