The GraniteMan Triathlon with its 400 yd swim  - 6.5 mile bike  and 2 mile run course is a Super Sprint Triathlon designed for triathletes to conquer and feel good about. Swim in Folsom Lake, on scenic roads closed to traffic, and run on trails around the lake. Duathletes substitute a 2 mile run for the swim - and both Triathletes and Duathletes receive the GraniteMan Finisher Medal.   

Course Information:

Wave Starts:
Wave one: Men 39 and under
Wave two: Men 40+, and Clydesdale athletes
Wave three: Women 39 and under
Wave four: Women 40+, Athena athletes, and Relay Teams

Course Description: 
Swim - The swim course will be a half mile swim in Folsom Lake, completely monitored by safety kayakers and lifeguards.

Bike - The bike course will be a 6.5 course on the roads inside the park at Folsom Lake, Granite Bay. The course will be closed to traffic and monitored for safety. The Bike course will Not have an aid station. Water and electrolyte beverage, along with energy gels will be available in the transition area.

Run - The run course will be a two-mile course around sections of the lake on trails and pavement. There will be an aid station at the start and half way on the run course. ALL athletes must wear their race number on the front of their body during the run and have it when crossing the finish line.

Directions:

From the Bay Area or Sacramento:

Take I-80 East to Roseville and take the Douglas Blvd exit east.

Douglas Blvd will run directly into Folsom Lake State Park.

Turn right at the third stop sign and enter the parking area at Granite Beach.

The start and finish will take place at Granite Beach.

From Reno:

Take I-80 West to Roseville and take the Douglas Blvd exit east.

Douglas Blvd will run directly into Folsom Lake State Park.

Turn right at the third stop sign and enter the parking area at Granite Beach.

The start and finish will take place at Granite Beach.

There is a $10 vehicle charge for day-use or $125 for an annual pass.

Other Info:

Equipment: 
Expected water temperature for Folsom Lake will be 68-72 degrees. Wetsuits are optional. Swim fins and snorkels are not allowed. Helmets must be worn and buckled on the bike at all times. Run numbers must be worn on the run and when crossing the finish line. Listening devices of any kind: MP3, IPod, headphones, etc are not allowed during the swim and bike leg of the race
.
