2013 Krueger Pool Triathlon:

  • The City of Beloit, Parks and Leisure Services Division, proudly presents the Krueger Pool Triathlon.
  • 400 yard swim (1/4 mile) 15 mile bike trek 3.2 mile run (5K)
  • All proceeds will benefit the beautiful and historical natatorium in Beloit, Wisconsin.

    Race will begin at 8:00am SHARP!

    Location/Facilities
  • Start/Register at Krueger Pool, 1700 Hackett Street.
  • Bike and run end at the upper parking lot (House and Hackett Street).
  • Parking available at the Boys & Girls Club (185 1 Moore Street).
  • Water and Shower available at the natatorium.
  • This course is very spectator friendly!

    Safety
  • Route will be marked with arrows and signs. Volunteer guides will be on corners as available.
  • Race participants are responsible for their own bikes and equipment.
  • City of Beloit/Krueger Pool staff and volunteers will not be responsible for lost or stolen items.
  • Every racer MUST wear a bike helmet.
  • There is no be no outside assistance on any part of the course.
  • No buoyancy suits, fins or snorkels allowed.
  • No drafting will be permitted.


    Categories/Awards
  • Ages 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, and 65+.
  • A Clydesdale individual division is established for men over 200 lbs and women over 150 lbs.
  • A special 13-14 year old division is also available.
  • Awards will be given as a first, second, and third place individual award only.
  • There is no overall youth individual award given.
  • A youth team winning first, second, and third place will receive an award. Participants in this division will race last. Parents may accompany racers.
  • Awards will be given to the top overall places in the male, female, and Clydesdale categories. First, second, and third place awards will be given in the team category.
  • The overall male and female will also win the first place award in their age category including the Clydesdale category.
  • A souvenir shirt, snacks, and beverages are provided to each participant.
  • Course Information:



    Start
  • Warm ups will be allowed in the pool until the race starts.
  • After the race starts, NO ONE other than racers may be in the water.
  • Competitors will enter the pool at 10 second intervals according to established swim time (faster swimmers first).
  • Please line up by the signs at the deep end of the pool before 7:45am so we can begin promptly.
  • Make sure your number is visible on your arms and legs.
  • Pre-race meeting will be held promptly at 7:45am.
  • The first swimmer will enter the water at 8:00am and swimmers will follow at 10 second intervals. These times will be adjusted according to entry time.
  • Swimmers will swim a serpentine course and must stay within guide ropes. Lane Marshals will be checking for completion of each lane and failure to do so will result in disqualification.

    Course
  • Drafting is NOT permitted.
  • Drafters will be disqualified and notifications of disqualifications will appear on the final results.
  • There will be Race Marshals patrolling the course and their decisions will NOT be open to contest.
  • Anyone considered cheating or exhibiting bad sportsmanship in any part of the race will be disqualified.
  • Bike and run courses have been marked. Volunteers with flags will be at corners as available, however, competitors are responsible for knowing the course.
  • Please review the course map.
  • Bikers and runners must follow the traffic laws.
  • There are intersections at which we cannot provide squad cars or flag persons. You are responsible to stop and yield when necessary.
  • Please watch for sand, gravel, large pavement cracks, and pot holes on the course.
  • Corners have been pre-swept and pot holes have been spray painted, but special care is still necessary.
  • We are not responsible for damage caused to you or your bike by roadway conditions.
  • Your safety and that of others riding near you is at risk, so use caution.
