The Sacramento International Triathlon is USAT Sanctioned for 2013, and held at Discovery Park, Sacramento, California. The course has a 1.5 k swim - 40 k bike - 10 k run. Included with each entry is a custom Sacramento International Triathlon tech-tee race shirt, plus athlete goody bag, division awards, post race hot food, raffle prizes, and free parking. 

There will be an Aqua Bike option available this year with the Sacramento International Triathlon.

The Sacramento International Triathlon will be USAT Sanctioned for 2012, requiringholding of an annual membership card with USAT or the purchase of a $12 one-day license with USAT on race day.

Course Information:

Swim - The race starts from the beach in Discovery Park, across the bridge from the Transition area, finish line and athlete parking. The swim will be a 1.5K in the American River, starting upstream and ending downstream on the opposite side of the American River. There is a staircase up the riverbank to the transition area. Swim course (PDF)

Bike - The 40K bike course is four laps and is on closed local roads. Athletes are responsible for counting their own bike laps to insure they finish all four laps. Athletes not completing all four bike laps will be disqualified.  The Bike course will not have an aid station. Water and Electrolyte Beverage, along with energy gels will be available in the transition area. Bike course (PDF)

Run  The 10K run course is a fast out and back course along the beautiful American River Parkway. There will be aid stations at the start of the run and at miles 1, 3, and 5. ALL athletes must wear their race number on the front of their body during the run and have it when crossing the finish line. Run course (PDF)

Directions:

The park is located beside I-5 in downtown Sacramento. From I-5 take the Richards Blvd. off-ramp then go west to get to the South entrance of the park. Signs denote the park's location from I-5. There is a $5 vehicle charge.

Equipment: 
Expected water temperature for American River, Discovery Park will be 68-74 degrees. Wetsuits are allowed. Swim fins and snorkels are not allowed. Helmets must be worn and buckled on the bike at all times. Run numbers must be worn on the run and when crossing the finish line. Listening devices of any kind: MP3, IPod, headphones, etc... are not allowed.
