12th annual event offering historic setting with lake swim safety personell including lifegaurds, land of lincoln power squadron, police boats, fire department boats, dive team and actual doctors on course. Bike consists of flat, fast rolling country roads from lake to lake while run takes place on closed scenic lake roads with SIU medical school staff along both courses. Our medical staff to racer count is the best in the country. Unique overall metal and age group awards, and lunch and awards banquet known throughout Illinois as one of the best. Our menus vary and our sponsors are quite generous! Finisher awards for all racers.
Course Information:
Swim will be a wave start in a counterclockwise, triangular direction with plenty of safety staff along all sections of the course. Lifeguards and dive team on site.
Bike is an out and back ride to Lake Sangchris on rolling hills and fast.
Run will be up and over the restored Lindsay Bridge and on West Lake Drive which will be closed except for local traffic. Expect plenty of volunteer and public support along this shaded route
