White Rock race<\/a> a favorite one among both females and males.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n
In total, the event is witnessing three road closures after the instant growth it has experienced, race organizers claim.<\/p>\n

According to Brian Wiebe, the Tour de White Rock representative, during the last decade, there were many times when the women\u2019s race were at a high risk of being cancelled due to a low number of registrations.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
A sudden growth<\/h2>\n
<\/p>\n
However, this is not the case anymore where a sudden growth in women\u2019s race is witnessed during the last couple of years.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
\u201cWhere we\u2019ve really been happy to see the growth is in women\u2019s cycling,\u201d Wiebe says.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
\u201cThe interest on the women\u2019s side of cycling is just huge. It\u2019s not as big in terms of registrations numbers as the men just yet, but it\u2019s really, really, robust.\u201d<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Today, on the second and last part of the tour, race organizers say that a big part of Marine Drive will be blocked and if you\u2019re ones of the spectators, Wiebe advises to take proper measures due to high temperatures.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
\u201cThe men and women start just around 10 o\u2019clock in the morning so they end up riding the most grueling hills of White Rock around noon time, which is traditionally the hottest time of the day,\u201d he says.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
\u201cWe might not see the pace similar to what we\u2019ve seen at some of the events earlier B.C. Superweek where the temperatures haven\u2019t been as hot.\u201d<\/p>\n
