<\/p>\nAfter Hinault\u2019s comments a couple of days ago about Froome and his salbutamol case, Team Sky have hit back and this time with a clear message.<\/p>\n

French cycling legend, Bernard Hinault said that the 2018 Tour de France peloton should go on a strike as soon as possible in case Chris Froome, the three-time tour de France champion, is allowed to become part of it despite the fact his salbutamol case is still unresolved by the UCI.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Accordion to the five-time Tour de France winner, Froome should not participate in any cycling event. Especially in the biggest Grand Tour in the world which starts on July 7, considering the fact his investigation is still opened.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
\u201cIf the international authorities don\u2019t sanction him it\u2019s up to the other cyclists to shoulder the responsibility,\u201d Hinault said earlier this week.<\/p>\n

Hasn\u2019t been long since Hinault attacked Froome saying that he \u201cis not a legend\u201d despite the fact he won an impressive Giro d\u2019Italia last month and became the third rider in the history to have ever won three consecutive grand tours after winning last year\u2019s Tour de France and Vuelta a Espana.<\/p>\n

Responding to these comments, Team Sky representative said that Hinault is \u201cirresponsible and ill-informed\u201d about the case and facts behind it.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is disappointing that Bernard Hinault has, once again, repeated factually incorrect comments about a case he clearly does not understand,\u201d Team Sky representative said.<\/p>\n

\u201cHis comments are irresponsible and ill-informed. Chris has not had a positive test, rather an adverse analytical finding for a prescribed asthma medication. As an ex-rider himself, Bernard will appreciate the need for fairness for each and every athlete. And at the current time, Chris is entitled to race.\u201d<\/p>\n
