Team Sky has had some great days so far with Geraint Thomas giving an amazing performance at Criterium du Dauphine and climbing to third overall and on the other hand, hearing the news that their main rider, Chris Froome, won\u2019t be in any way stopped from becoming part of this season\u2019s Tour de France which starts on July 7.<\/p>\n

The news the British team received indicated that there would be no attempt to block four-time Tour de France winner\u2019s plan to become part of this year\u2019s event as well.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Both Chris Froome and his squad can now breathe in peace after fearing that the Tour organizers might try to put into action a \u201cdisrepute\u201d clause in their riding rules.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

According to Christian Prudhomme, the Tour de France race CEO, any race suspension is a decision that can only come from the UCI.<\/p>\n

Ongoing investigation<\/h2>\n

Froome returned twice the allowed level of an asthma drug called salbutamol in his urine test during last season\u2019s Vuelta a Espana event where he took the title.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

And since then, the UCI has opened an investigation to find out the truth about his asthma-related health problems, his physical state which may have been unable to properly process the drug indicating more than the allowed amount in his system and other crucial components before making a decision.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Froome, who just won this season\u2019s Giro d\u2019Italia, grabbing six grand tour victories so far, has always denied any wrongdoing and has put his lawyers into action to protect his claims and let everyone know the truth.<\/p>\n

\u201cDavid Lappartient said it multiple times, it is a decision that must be taken by the UCI,\u201d Prudhomme added.<\/p>\n

\u201cCycling works like anything else. We are the organizers [but] we don\u2019t make the rules.\u201d<\/p>\n
