The Team Dimension Data\u2019s Mark Cavendish has been lucky to avoid a heavy, serious crash in the final kilometers of yesterday\u2019s Milan-Sanremo race. Cavendish,32, was lucky to be able to avoid any serious injuries receiving just a few minor fractures on his rib and arm.<\/p>\n

After the heavy\u00a0collision into a bollard during the last 10km of the yesterday\u2019s race of Milan-Sanremo 2018, the\u00a0Team Dimension Data\u2019s doctor Jarrad van Zuydam, tweeted: “Yes, Cav is okay. No serious injuries, details to follow from the team. He even managed to preserve his sense of humour.”<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Speaking before Milan-San Remo\u2019s event, Cavendish admitted to not feeling in his best shape to win the race. “After crashing in Tirreno I’m obviously not in any sort of condition to win Milan-San Remo,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
“But having been able to train enough through the pain over the last few days I feel like I can go in support of my teammates.”<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
This season\u2019s Milan-SanRemo race was eventually won by Italian Vincenzo Nibali in seven hours 18 minutes 43 seconds!<\/p>\n
