Team Sky\u2019s champion, Chris Froome has stated that according to him, the points of the UCI ranking system are not divided in the right way.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s Tour de France and Vuelta a Espana winner, Froome, soon after finishing second in this season\u2019s WorldTour Individual ranking, has now stated that he thinks cyclists get to have quite as significant advantage over the rest of the competitors in that same standing.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Apparently, this came after the fact the number one in the ranking system was BMC\u2019s rider, Greg Van Avermaet, while the four-time Tour de France winner took the second position.<\/p>\n

“He was the only deserved winner,” said the Briton during an interview with Belgian newspaper Het Nieuwsblad. “I was second, but that ranking has never been a goal. If it was I’d have had to ride Il Lombardia or the Tour of Guangxi. And I had no energy for that.”<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Even though Froome admitted Belgian rider was the one who deserved to win, he admitted to think the ranking system doesn\u2019t work properly. According to Froome, \u2018the points are not evenly divided\u2019 that makes the \u2018ranking to be unfair\u2019.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
“Someone who wins two classics gets more points than the Vuelta a Espa\u00f1a winner. While for the Vuelta, you have to be the best rider for three weeks,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Eventually, Van Avermaet got 500 points for each one of his victories at Gent-Wevelgem and Paris-Roubaix. Team Sky\u2019s, Froome, got 850 for his Vuelta win.<\/p>\n
